IOOF Pursuit wins PDS of the year

IOOF Product Development

ASFA Communications Award

IOOF Pursuit has walked away with PDS of the year at the ASFA Communications Awards for 2009.

The new PDS documents (launched in February 2009) take advantage of provisions in the ‘incorporation by reference’ legislation and are considerably shorter and easier to read.

Because the target audience of the Pursuit PDSs consists of both clients and their financial advisers, the PDSs walk the fine line between being easy to understand for the novice investor as well as containing sufficient information for financial advisers.

The ASFA judges explained: “IOOF made some bold decisions to reduce length and complexity of their PDS suite. A clear identification of their audience, strong implementation plan and good creative were all features that judges liked in this high quality submission.”

IOOF Pursuit won the award ahead of other finalists Colonial First State, AMP and SunSuper.

The new structure puts all the most essential details in one central document, while the more specialised information (referenced in the main document whenever relevant) is available on the IOOF website for download on demand.

Clients receive an easy-to-read main PDS of around 30 pages plus a single forms booklet containing all the forms needed for that product. This approach makes the new PDS very concise and easy to navigate.
