Introducing…

David Kilmer, Head of Research - IOOF Research Team

1 What do you and your team do at IOOF?

We have a team of three people. It includes two Research Analysts and me as Head of Research. Our responsibilities include the research and development of IOOF’s platform investment menus and preparation of research papers for the IOOF board. In addition, we also provide investment expertise to a number of dealer groups.

2 When and why did you join IOOF?

I joined IOOF in August 2008. I was impressed by its rich history and the people I knew.

3 What was your first job?

I worked as a Financial Accountant at WHK Horwath, the fifth largest accounting group in Australasia and part of Crowe Horwath International.

4 What is the strangest thing that’s happened to you at work?

I frequently lock myself out of my PC at work.

5 Tell us one fact your colleagues might be surprised to learn

My famous surname - Kilmer is unusual for an Asian.

6 Craziest thing I've done…

I have just relearned riding a bike after fifteen years.

7 Something I’d like to learn is…

One thing I’d like to learn is flying a plane.

8 What is your favourite sports team?

Manchester United and Collingwood.

9 What is your favourite TV show?

Two and Half Men, Top Gear and Man vs Wild.

10 If I didn't live in Melbourne…

I would like to live in New York or be back in my home city, Shanghai.
