Introducing Renato Mota, General Manager, Distribution

After more than six years at IOOF (initially in strategy development and more recently being responsible for IOOF branded investment products), I am excited by the opportunity presented to me as General Manager, Distribution. I look forward to becoming involved in what is undoubtedly IOOF's core business; servicing adviser needs across both superannuation and investments.

This new IOOF Distribution team encompasses the planning, marketing, distribution and product areas of our superannuation and investment products. By consolidating the investment and platform businesses within IOOF, we are now positioning the business to provide advisers with a holistic offering.

2009 was clearly a year of great turmoil and of great learnings for investors and anyone who operates in our industry. While volatility and market turmoil brought into question most aspects of our financial belief and models, what has also been highlighted throughout the year is that those investors who managed their financial affairs in consultation with financial planning experts were better placed than those who did not.

We also experienced significant industry consolidation and IOOF played its part in this. While consolidations provide short term challenges to any business, we are confident that over the longer term the activities of the past 12 months have made IOOF stronger and better able to develop more meaningful relationships with our key clients.

Over the next few months we will continue to update you on our progress and strategy. As always, we love to hear from you so please feel free to send through your feedback or comments to myself or Alex Tullio.

We hope you enjoy reading the first edition of @dviser Magazine for 2010!

Kind regards,

Renato Mota
